Brief Resume

  • In college I studied the theory and practice of social change and learned directly from those in the field through internships in the nonprofit sector.
  • My first jobs out of college were organizing large-scale 1,600 to 10,000 person community volunteer events that completed hundreds of hands on improvement projects and raised thousands of dollars.
  • I led fundraising from individual donors at the Global Fund for Women for over eight years. I grew the program from 3,500 to 20,000+ donors contributing more than $5 million annually.
  • I travelled extensively for 10 years to countries in North & Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America.
  • In 2008 I started my consulting business and have helped nonprofits, small business owners, artists & entrepreneurs to market themselves and expand the reach of their work to larger audiences.

GREATEST STRENGTH

I hold the big picture vision while also immediately breaking down ideas and projects into the individual steps needed to make them happen. Being able to see the whole and the parts simultaneously means that nothing seems impossible and each single action is imbued with the meaning and context of the larger goal.

Driving Force

Curiosity.

Changed my life

In 1998, when I was 26, I left the U.S. for the first time on a solo-backpacking trip to Central America. Eight months of traveling and volunteering in countries where I was a stranger struggling to communicate completely altered my understanding of the world. This experience also taught me how to move through my fears and cemented a strong sense of resourceful self-confidence.
